  • While Twisted Sister’s two previous albums had failed to capture an audience outside of their New York-base, Stay Hungry’s monster hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” would become the buzz of radio and MTV
  • Twisted Sister made a cameo appearance in the 1985 film Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, in which they performed the song “Burn In Hell”
  • Lead-singer Dee Snider’s 1999 film, the Stephen King-influenced Strangeland, was based on the two segments of Stay Hungry’s “Horror-Teria,” with Snider himself starring as Captain Howdy
  • In 2004, Twisted Sister re-recorded and re-released the tracks from the 1984 album under the title Still Hungry
  • In August 2012, frontman Dee Snyder announced his disapproval of Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan using Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as intro music at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania

Today, David Florig, the Executive Director of WePac was in to discuss the library situation in the Philadelphia School System. Right now there are only 12 state paid libraries open at elementary schools in Philly, 28 over all. There are 150 schools in Philly.
