  • Born: Sebastian Philip Bierk  on April 3, 1968 in the Bahamas; he was raised in Ontario, Canada
  • Age: 45

  • He was the frontman of Skid Row from 1987-1996
  • Bach appeared as a 5-season recurring character named ‘Gil’ on “Gilmore Girls in” 2007. He has also acted or voiced characters on other TV shows such as “Robot Chicken”, “Spongebob Squarepants” and “Californication”
  • In 1989, a concert-goer threw a bottle at Bach’s head and Bach responded by throwing the bottle back into the crowd where it hit the face of an innocent bystander.  Bach was sentenced to three months’ probation for the incident
  • Skid Row’s 1991 album Slave To The Grind was the first ever metal album to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts
  • Since 2000, he has starred in Broadway musicals such as “Jekyll and Hyde,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar”
  • On the 2006 VH1 reality show “Supergroup,” Ted Nugent led an intervention that caused Bach to give up alcohol
  • In 2011, Bach’s New Jersey home was badly damaged in Hurricane Irene and many of his things were destroyed, including Skid Row’s master tapes
  • Bach has toured with fellow metal bands Poison and Guns N’ Roses

Today, David Florig, the Executive Director of WePac was in to discuss the library situation in the Philadelphia School System. Right now there are only 12 state paid libraries open at elementary schools in Philly, 28 over all. There are 150 schools in Philly.
