- Mason is a founding member and drummer of the band Pink Floyd
- Has remained the only constant member of Floyd for over four decades
- Along with Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Bob Klose, Mason formed the Pink Floyd precursor Sigma 6 in 1964
- Pink Floyd was officially founded in 1965 with the lineup Nick Mason, Roger Waters, Syd Barrett and Richard Wright
- Mason co-wrote many of Pink Floyd’s best-known songs, including “Echoes” and “Time”
- He crafted the sound effects for the Dark Side of the Moon album
- He solely wrote the Pink Floyd songs “The Grand Vizier’s Garden Party Parts 1-3” and “Speak to Me”
- Mason worked as a producer (during the 70s)
- He released his first solo album, Nick Mason’s Fictitious Sports, in 1981
- Mason released three albums with guitarist Rick Finn; one studio album entitled Profiles (1985) and two soundtracks – White of the Eye (1987) and Tank Malling (1988)
- Nick Mason was Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 as a member of Pink Floyd
- Has his own auto company called Ten Tenths that rents action cars out to film, television and media productions
- Mason wrote a 1998 book called Into the Red that talks about his experience with cars
- He wrote another book, Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd, in 2004
- Mason purchased a Ferrari Enzo that was featured on the BBC show Top Gear
- He performed at the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games in London
