Drill Sergeant Eberly Memorial 'Warrior 5k' Fun Run/1 Mile Walk

In March 2010, Master Sergeant Mark A. Eberly, an 18-year Veteran of the US Army, was killed while training for the National Guard Marathon. He was a dedicated Soldier, but mostly a beloved father, son, brother, and friend.


There will be a 5k run in his honor with all proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides aid and support to severely wounded service members and their families.

The event will be held November 6th @ 9am at Norristown Farm Park, Norristown, PA

Operation XO is a local non-profit organization started by Heather McKnight Hamilton and Amanda Riker, two army wives whose husbands are currently serving in remote locations in Afghanistan. The organization’s mission is to send necessary food and toiletries to soldiers serving in remote locations in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan and improve the quality of life for those defending our freedom and protecting our country.

Although our military provides the basics of food, shelter, and gear, however, the troops that are stationed in remote locations, especially combat zones, far from stores of any kind, do not have access to necessities they desperately need to be readily available to them. That is where Operation XO comes in to assist these fine men and women. Our organization provides items such as baby wipes (when showers are scarce), deodorant, toothpaste, and especially sun block.
