How did the "chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot pie" clip originate? Totally stupid, but makes me laugh every time I hear it.

@Kevin It's from an episode of Just Shoot Me. David Cross was a guest playing Elliot's mentally slow brother. It's really even funnier in context when you watch the episode. It's on youtube in two parts.

Everyone starring in "Saving Private Ryan" comes from when Nick insisted that Henry Thomas (who played Eliot in E.T.) was in "Saving Private Ryan." To make fun of him, they then started saying that everyone starred in it. I am fairly certain that is the origin. "Big dogs running, big dogs out!" is from a TV show called "The Firm." And the gay robot clips are from internet videos about Gay Robot. I am not sure which one specifically, but you can find them on Youtube by searching for "gay robot"

Hey Larry was actually from the first show of 2008. Larry King got an email from Lindsay Lohan which started with "Hey Larry!" Does anyone else think Rantlers sounds just like Casey? I always thought it did, until they explained it a while back. Miney and the F'ed up Horse is from the 10-24-06. "Big Dogs Running-Big Dogs Out" is from a reality show that was on NBC around three years ago. I can't remember the title, but it was about law school students who were interns at law firms working on real cases. The man in the clip was being sued because his dogs bit somebody. He was demonstrating that the plantiff should have known his dogs were dangerous because he had signs stating what he says in the clip. The show was only on for an episode or two because it was so bad.
  56. dasher m posted on 11/07/2008 01:50 PM
"The Wreck of the Ella Fitzgerald" originated from a discussion about songs, and I think it was about songs from the 1970s. A caller was the one who made the statement first, confusing it with the actual song, which was "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
  57. dasher m posted on 11/07/2008 01:57 PM
"Gadzooks" was coined by Steve when Preston was reading a story about a gold engraved watch from Marilyn Monroe to John F. Kennedy. At the time (about three years ago, in the fall?), the watch was up for auction. The watch was actually refused by JFK. Steve was acting out his version of what JFK might have said upon receiving the gift. Steve said something (doing his JFK impression) like "Gadzooks! Get that watch out of here! Do whatever you have to, but don't let Jackie see the watch!" At first, Steve would always say "Gadzooks!" with his JFK voice, but that has diminished over time. Callers that day made it a catchphrase by opening nearly every call with it.

"Boom goes the dynamite" was from a college campus TV newscast. The kid who was doing the sports was so nerveous and as a result was pretty awful. He couldn't keep with the highlights and was stuttering all the way through. He finally caught up to speed during a basketball highlight and when somebody made a basket the kid went "and boom goes the dynamite" It's funny b/c you could tell he wanted to work that line in, but he sucked so bad it lost any effectiveess. You could probably type "Boom goes the dynamite" on YouTube and watch the clip

No one seems to remember that Steve used the "Gadzooks" joke the day before what everyone considers the origin of it. During the morning news segment, there was a story about one of the more obscure Kennedy relatives and a prostitue on a Massachussetts shoreline, and Steve said Gadzooks in the JFK voice to next-to-no response from the rest of the group. But for some reason the next day, he did the same exact joke and everyone found it hilarious. Which always makes me think Steve got the JFK-sayong-gadzooks idea from somewhere else.

Here are all of the ones that I know, which haven't been answered yet: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - Flash cartoon by Weebl: http://www.weebl....aaaaaaaaaaahaha/ It's me, Gay Robot, I made you some pancakes - It's from the first track on comedian Nick Swardson's CD, "Party": http://www.youtu....ch?v=8WPlUI7yqbY wawawawawawawa - In the P&S "Clips" segment, they had a clip from Laura Linney where she talks about politicians (I think) and how everything that comes out of their mouths just sounds like "wawawawa" Up my butt - Also from the "Clips"; it was Jessica Simpson talking about getting a wedgie from the shorts she was wearing in some movie (Dukes of Hazzard?) Eugeeene - Casey imitating Ratboy, from the movie of the same name: http://posters.imdb.com/title/tt0091827/ The whistles go Wooo Wooo - A local news station did a story about how some people were putting whistles in their mufflers, and they interviewed a man named Bubb Rubb: http://www.youtu....ch?v=eSOSJ68xOBA Cause she got a great ass! - Al Pacino in Heat: http://www.youtu....ch?v=d5vlco4yvSc Guy singing "Heaven Can Wait" by Iron Maiden - P&S did a contest a few months ago, I think the winner got to go on stage and sing a song with Iron Maiden. This was one of the contestants.
