International Record Store Day 2012

Greetings Citizens!

           Tomorrow is International Record Store Day!  We hope you get out and support local record stores in our area and there are a bunch of great ones, including Main Street Music in Manayunk.  Main Street Music has a full day of events Saturday with seven local bands performing live.  You can find more details HERE.  There are plenty of othere stores in the area throwing parties as well.  But the best part is all the exclusive releases that will be available only tomorrow, and most of them are on vinyl!  I've got five of them to give away on the air today, including a demos release from Pete Townshend, a picture disc from Ozzy, and a red 45 from the White Stripes.  Stay tuned!

Public Affairs - American Cancer Society Bike A Thon

Richard Antczak, Co Chairman of the ACS Bike A Thon was in the WMMR studio to discuss, Sunday July 14th with us. The ACS Bike A Thon is 4000 bikers riding from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly to Buena Vista, NJ. We are raising money to fight cancer. All moneys raised in the ACS Bike A Thon are used locally to fund cancer research. Information can be gotten on the ACS BIKEATHON Facebook Page, HERE.
