Earthquake!!!!

Greetings Citizens!

As you know, today we experienced a 5.9 magnitude earthquake. Coming from San Francisco it's something that I've been through before but never during my 30 years living here in Philadelphia. At any rate, it gave me a good change to make a left turn and play earthquake related songs in an extended, spur of the moment thematic block. With your help I played:

Shake it Up – The Cars

If The House is a Rockin' – Stevie Ray Vaughn

You Shook Me – AC/DC

You Shook Me – Led Zeppeln

Shake Me Down – Cage The Elephant

Shake, Rattle & Roll – Bill Haley & the Comets

Shakin' All Over – The Who

Shakin' – Eddie Money

Shakedown Street – Grateful Dead

Thank you for your help today and for all your great song suggestions! Fortunately, nobody was hurt by the earthquake and we were able to make light of this event by playing a bunch of songs. Because, if you think about it, there is a rock song that fits any situation!

Cheers,

Pierre

This is why I love living in Philly and listening to WMMR. I was able to get information on The Great Shake of 2011 from Pierre and Jason F. Forget Schwartz's "Trust the bowtie". Turn here and "Trust the Tie-Dye" instead!

Pierre's Interviews:

So cool - I got to interview all the guys from Alice In Chains this past Thursday in studio before they rocked the MMRBQ. Check it out!

Greetings Citizens,

In February of 1998 I had the pleasure of speaking with Ray Manzarek.  We discussed the stamps of The Doors that were just released and I asked him about The Doors movie, directed by Oliver Stone.  We are deeply saddened by Ray's passing but the music will always live on!

Cheers,

Pierre

Thursday afternoon, I had the chance to speak with the lead vocalist of one of my favorite bands, RIVAL SONS. They just released their 3rd album in the USA (March 19th) called Head Down. It's an amazing record. Jay and I discussed many a topic in the hour we conversed. We talked about the new record, Rock N Roll, Snowboarding, Touring, and a whole lot more. I really enjoyed our conversation and I hope you do as well. Get more information about Rival Sons at Their Facebook Page, HERE. Or, go to their website, HERE. And, don't forget to follow Rival Sons on Twitter. Thank you so much for listening,

Markus In The Darkus
