Soon the aliens will return to take Tiger & Lance back to their home planet of Athleticusdominatis.  Until then, we have the pleasure of watching them perform or at the very least - hearing about their many stellar accomplishments. Despite Armstrong kicking the s*#t out of cancer and then going on to win the Tour de France 7 times, overcoming America's complete apathy toward the sport of cycling has proved to be a bit more challenging.

I however, am a huge fan.  The man is a friggin' anomaly!  He is unquestionably one of the best athletes to walk the face of earth.  Not only did Armstrong just win America's toughest bike race, but he did it in record time and rode the last 10 miles on a flat tire.  Amazing!

Speaking of Lance Armstrong... still time to join Team WMMR for the Livestrong Challenge this Sunday.  We're doing the 45 mile bike ride. Come join us! Click Here

I know your dream gig is to be Lance's bike seat. Too bad you're a DJ.

Jaxon's Interviews:

It's Monday. You're bummed about it. How about some music to wake you up? We're here for ya: this Local Shots Podcast features Philly alt-rockers Love A Lunatic. Stream today's pick, "Breathe", and keep up with the band over at ReverbNation.

Here's 3 reasons we like Ruby The Hatchet: swirling riffs, haunting vocals, psychedelic jams. What more could you want? Hear the track "Paralyzed" on today's Local Shots Podcast- it's off their new Eliminator EP which is available on a variety of mediums, including vinyl and cassette. See them at North Star Bar on Friday May 9th (info here) and hear more at RubyTheHatchet.com.

Mo Lowda & The Humble is one of the coolest band names we've seen to date, which is why they are April's Local Shots Artist of the Month! ...Kidding- though the name is groovy, the music is a way better reason to check these guys out. The Temple U. trio gained a lot of traction after the release of their first full-length record Curse The Weather, building upon their established reputation as one of the best alt-rock bands in the city. Today we played the track "The Way Home"; stream it now, and get show dates plus a whole lot more on the Artist of the Month page.

What's up Philly? Jaxon here. Check out my show weekday afternoons from 3-7 on the Mighty MMR. We'll have Jaxon's iPod, the Mystery Theme and even the occasional game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. What better way to enjoy that contact high you scored while listening to Pierre?
