All you vick haters need to check yourselves. take a look in the mirror. This guy served his time, he is a football player, no he is not going to flip burgers! I am thrilled to have Vick here, why not be gracious?

Its amazing how we crucify him and we praise the drug and sex culture of our favorite rock bands. We overlook what we want. If he were a rock star we would be going to the concert.

im not very happy about this. he did not serve enough time. he shouldnt even be playing football. but i guess when you have money and are a "superstar" you get what ever you want. this is freaking ridiculous. normal people who abuse animals get more time than he did.

Watch a show called "Dogtown - Rehabiliating the Michael Vick Pitbulls" and you will see what kind of man he is. I guess because he is a football play people overlook the fact that he hung and drowned innocent animals. It makes me sick.

lotta money for a backup QB. Unless the Eagles are planning on running the Wildcat offense, or some crazy version of the A-11

People need to go to hsus.org the leader of the humane society of the United States makes a video statement on there under the title "HSUS willing to give Vick a chance" one of the organization leaders and people behind the Vick investigation makes a very good very point filled statement

Never a boring day in Philadelphia sports! Anybody catch CSN last night? They went from the Vick story into Chase Utley's PSPCA commercial.

Are the Eagles looking for cheerleaders? Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme is looking for a job.

I am not a PETA person, just someone that respects and values life whether it be a person or animal.

Not only is this a terrible PR move, what's worse is that anyone signing him, let alone our beloved Eagles, condones his behavior. I am a teacher--if was I was convicted of a felony, I would never work again, let alone for a 1.6 million (and more year 2) contract. I understand that legally yes, he fulfilled his obligation to society, but just because the NFL says he's allowed to play doesn't mean he should.

I'd rather have Plaxico Burress--I'll take outright stupidity over intentional cruelty any day.

Jaxon's Interviews:

Here's 3 reasons we like Ruby The Hatchet: swirling riffs, haunting vocals, psychedelic jams. What more could you want? Hear the track "Paralyzed" on today's Local Shots Podcast- it's off their new Eliminator EP which is available on a variety of mediums, including vinyl and cassette. See them at North Star Bar on Friday May 9th (info here) and hear more at RubyTheHatchet.com.

Mo Lowda & The Humble is one of the coolest band names we've seen to date, which is why they are April's Local Shots Artist of the Month! ...Kidding- though the name is groovy, the music is a way better reason to check these guys out. The Temple U. trio gained a lot of traction after the release of their first full-length record Curse The Weather, building upon their established reputation as one of the best alt-rock bands in the city. Today we played the track "The Way Home"; stream it now, and get show dates plus a whole lot more on the Artist of the Month page.

Tunage on the Local Shots Podcast is brought to you today by Goodnight Lights! This song, which has an excellent 90s-fuzz vibe, is called "Convinced" and it'll be included on their upcoming EP - keep an eye on goodnight-lights.com for more info on that release. Check out the brand spankin' new video for the track below. Their next show is this Friday at The Fire; get details HERE.

What's up Philly? Jaxon here. Check out my show weekday afternoons from 3-7 on the Mighty MMR. We'll have Jaxon's iPod, the Mystery Theme and even the occasional game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. What better way to enjoy that contact high you scored while listening to Pierre?
