Slash and Aerosmith have just over two weeks to go on their summer tour together, and Slash told us that the two-month jaunt with the veteran rockers has been a winner all around: "It's awesome. It's a great tour. It's very rock 'n' roll and there's nothing really else like it out there. The crowds have been great, Aerosmith is kicking ass -- I think it's actually raising our game a little bit. And those guys are like of the highest spirits I've seen them in a while and we're just having a blast."
- Slash told Ultimate Guitar about the trek, "It's been an amazing experience. Just being with a bunch of guys who you really know well and dig and have a lot of respect for. God, those guys have all been heroes of mine ever since I was a teenager anyway . . . Our tour in November will be that much better as a result of having played with Aerosmith the last couple months."
- Slash and Aerosmith next play on Thursday night (August 28th) in Atlanta, with the tour wrapping up on September 12th in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada.
- Slash is touring to promote the impending arrival of his third solo album, World On Fire, which comes out September 15th. The disc is his second with his now-permanent band, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.
- The title track has reached the Top 10 on the rock radio airplay chart.
DID YOU KNOW? Slash's previous band, Guns N' Roses, opened for Aerosmith in 1988 when the headliners were just getting used to sobriety and the members of G N' R were about as far from it as they could be.
INTERNET COMMENTS at Blabbermouth -- agree or not?
Aaron Lucas wrote: "Maybe touring with Slash will help Aerosmith put out a better album, you can pretty much line your bird cage with everything released since 'Pump.'"
To Meta Ohpion wrote: "I would have liked to see this tour, even at the outrageous prices they were asking, both bands put on very memorable shows."
Joe Vaughn wrote: "Yeah....it's upped your game because tickets for those shows are averaging 400 dollars a seat."
Brandon Maynard wrote: "The claim about the ticket prices is dubious at best. The overwhelming majority of tickets at the venues are nowhere near this price. I got three tickets, paid after-market prices, and still only spent a little over $200 altogether."
