ROBERT PLANT ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN FALL DATES

8/8/2014

Robert Plant and his new side band Sensational Space Shifters have announced the first seven dates of their North American fall tour. Plant and the band kick things off on September 25th in Port Chester, New York, and have dates now on the books for Brooklyn, New York; Toronto, Ontario; Chicago, Illinois; and Denver, Colorado before wrapping the shows up on October 7th, in Los Angeles, California. Plant's Sensational Space Shifters debut set, Lullaby And. . . The Ceaseless Roar, will be released on September 9th.

Well over 45 years in the busi

ness, Robert Plant says that up and coming musicians should stay as independent as possible: "Stay away from a major label. Y'know, you've got to be able to deal with people who are telling the truth. You can't be in a position where, if things aren't happening for you within four weeks, you're history and you're left dangling forever. I know quite a few artists of my era who are in that position now, who just can't get away."

  • Robert Plant presents Sensational Space Shifters will next perform on Saturday (August 9th) in Glastonbury, England.

SIDE NOTES

  • Last month, Robert Plant spoke to the NME following the announcement of the next two Led Zeppelin reissues on October 28th -- Led Zeppelin IV and Houses Of The Holy -- and addressed Page's claims of him being uninterested in teaming up, saying, "I feel for the guy. He knows he's got the headlines if he wants them. But I don't know what he's trying to do. So I feel slightly disappointed and baffled."
  • Plant revealed that he proposed working again with Page -- and presumably Zeppelin -- in an acoustic capacity: "A couple of years ago, I said, 'If you've got anything acoustic, let me know. I'll give it a whirl.' It was hands across the water. He just walked away. But we couldn't do anything proper. The weight of expectation is too great."
