Stone Temple Pilots and singer Chester Bennington are working on new music for the band's next release, according to a pair of tweets posted by STP bassist Robert DeLeo. Although Bennington is fully immersed in promotion and touring for the new Linkin Park record, DeLeo tweeted that they spent time together over this past weekend working on fresh STP material.
Bennington joined STP in May 0f 2013 following the band's dismissal of founding frontman Scott Weiland. Guitarist Dean DeLeo told us at the time that Bennington was their first and only choice to replace him:"We simply did not have a list of guys we were thinking of, we didn't hold auditions, we thought of Chester and that was it. It's very interesting, honestly, because Chester told me a story that when he was dating his wife about nine years ago, he told her that one day he was gonna get a call from us to be the singer of this band."
