Grouplove drummer and producer Ryan Rabin is the son of guitarist, film composer and producer Trevor Rabin, best known for playing in Yes from 1982 to 1994 and writing that band's massive hit single, "Owner Of A Lonely Heart." Diffuser asked Ryan Rabin in a new interview what he had learned from his father's experiences in a successful rock band. Ryan replied, "I learned a lot from him in terms of work ethic and musical training and rehearsal and working with other people and what to remember and concentrate on when performing . . . (my parents) also are just generally very supportive of the fact that I'm playing music. The rest of the band basically lived at my parents' house for our first two years of playing together."

  • Ryan added that his parents "definitely are influential in us being a band and getting where we have."
  • The drummer added that unlike many rock 'n' roll families, his has been "stable," adding, "There was never any pressure to do anything musical, only support."
  • Grouplove's second album, Spreading Rumors, arrived on September 17th and debuted a week later at Number 21 on the Billboard album chart.
  • The first single from the new disc, "Ways To Go," is Number Five on the Modern Rock radio chart.
  • Grouplove recently revealed plans to headline the 2013 Campus Consciousness Tour, which kicks off at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio on October 24th.
  • The newly announced dates follow Grouplove's own current Seesaw Tour, which has featured two-night stands in eleven cities across the country. That trek ends on Tuesday (October 1st) and Wednesday (October 2nd) in Washington D.C.
