Device and Disturbed frontman David Draiman and his wife, model, actress and wrestler Lena Yada, welcomed a baby boy named Samuel Bear Isamu Draiman into the world on Thursday morning (September 12th) at 12:58 a.m. Draiman wrote in a Facebook post, " I would like to introduce you to our son, Samuel Bear Isamu Draiman. My wife Lena is Superwoman . . . 29 hours of labor! Both mother and child are healthy and well. I thank the powers that be for this greatest of gifts. All my love and respect -- David."
- Device canceled all its tour dates through mid-October at the end of last month so that Draiman could be close to home, after his wife began having complications with the pregnancy.
- Draiman revealed the news of the pregnancy on May 2nd via Twitter before announcing it at theRevolver Golden Gods Awards.
- The singer told us earlier this summer how excited he was about becoming a father, saying he was "overwhelmed with joy." Draiman and Yada were married in September 2011.
- Device's debut CD entered at Number 11 on the Billboard album chart last April, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release. Draiman launched the group last year after his main band, Disturbed, went on hiatus in late 2011.
JUST OUR OPINION: We know from all the various interviews we've done with him that David Draiman has long wanted to be a father. We're pleased that his dream has come true and we congratulate him and his wife.
