'BLURRED LINES' COVERED BY VAMPIRE WEEKEND

7/23/2013

Vampire Weekend paid a visit to BBC Radio One's Live Lounge last week and performed a cover of one of the summer's most popular but controversial songs. The New York City natives took on Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and the result has quickly spread across the internet.

Despite the controversial lyrics, lead singer Ezra Koenig put a fun spin on the R&B track and even took a stab at T.I.'s guest rap verse. The cover has been played over 200,000 times on SoundCloud since being posted on Friday (July 19th.)

  • The band previously cover Cheryl Cole's "Fight For This Love" in the Live Lounge back in 2009.

WHAT DO YOU THINK???

  • Have you ever heard a cover better than the original version?
  • Is Blurred Lines the song of the summer?
  • Do you prefer when artist's put their own spin when performing a cover or is it better when they sing it like the original?
  • How does Ezra Koenig's voice compare to Robin Thicke's?
