One of the most acclaimed elements of the new Superman movie, Man Of Steel, is its score by Hans Zimmer, who chose not to imitate the famous 1978 movie theme by John Williams but went for something more percussive instead. To get what he wanted, Zimmer recruited a ton of drummers to come and perform on the film's soundtrack, and now a behind-the-scenes video clip of the sessions has surfaced.
In the clip, we see Tool's Danny Carey, ex-Nine Inch Nails and current Sublime With Rome drummer Josh Freese, former Pearl Jam stickman Matt Chamberlain, Jason Bonham, Pharrell Williams, Sheila E. and many more in action, with only Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters incredibly not present.
- Hans Zimmer has also written the scores for films like The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, among many others.
- Man Of Steel came out two weeks ago (June 14th) and set a new box office record for June with $125 million in its first three days.
- The film stars Henry Cavill in the title role, along with Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane and more.
