The Rolling Stones have remastered their catalogue for iTunes, according to Billboard. The new remasters include the band's entire output, from classic albums such as Beggars Banquet, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, Some Girls, and Tattoo You, to their earlier Decca Records era -- including both the U.S. and British versions of such albums as Out Of Our Heads, Aftermath, and Between The Buttons, among others. Also available for download are such Stones films as Ladies And Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones, Rock And Roll Circus, Charlie Is My Darling -- Ireland 1965, and the career-spanning Crossfire Hurricane, as well as the new Rolling Stones 50 eBook.
50 years into the band's career, Mick Jagger recalled how shocked the entertainment world was in the early-'60s as the Stones redefined the rules of the game: "The way that show-business was in those days was very narrow, and you were supposed to behave in a certain way, pretty much goody-two-shoes. So, if you didn't behave like that completely, you were, y'know, on the edge of it. So, it was another time. Y'know, the early, early days."
- Ron Wood, who first recorded with the Stones in 1974 and toured with the band the following year, still remembers what it was like to be one of the Stones' original legion of early British fans: "Yeah, well, I still look at it from a far, y'know? It's a bit like. . . it's very surreal to be in this unit where you used to run home from school to watch on the telly, going (claps hands): 'I'm gonna be in that band!' -- Y'know to actually be in that band."
- The Rolling Stones tour dates (subject to change):
June 21 - Philadelphia, PA - Wells Fargo Center
June 24 - Washington, D.C. - Verizon Center
June 29 - Pilton, England - Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm
July 6, 13 - London, England - Hyde Park
