Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk, who also plays on the new Black Sabbath album 13, has been served with divorce papers by his wife, Selene Vigil-Wilk. According to TMZ, Brad and Selene officially separated last Friday (June 14th), with Selene filing papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court just three days later on Monday (June 17th). The couple were married in 2005 and have two young children.
Selene, who used to sing for the all-girl punk act Seven-Year Bitch, is asking for joint legal custody of the children, but wants primary physical custody and spousal support.
- In addition to being a founding member of Rage, Wilk played in Audioslave with two of his Rage bandmates and most recently handled the drums on the Black Sabbath reunion album in place of absent original drummer Bill Ward.
- Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler told us how Wilk did during the sessions: "I think in the studio, Brad was more like a Bill kind of thing, like an old school drummer -- more jazzier and that kind of thing, which suited the album, the new album."
- Wilk is not touring with Sabbath. Tommy Clufetos, the drummer in Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne's solo band, is handling live duties.
SIDE NOTES: Black Sabbath's 13 debuted at Number One on the U.K. chart on Sunday (June 16th), handing the group their first chart-topper in their home country in 43 years.
