Linkin Park will headline the 2013 edition of the Sunset Strip Music Festival, according to Loudwire. The Los Angeles-based band follows in the footsteps of previous headliners Motley Crue, the Doors, Slash and Ozzy Osbourne. The festival will take place on August 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the many clubs that dot Hollywood's famous Sunset Strip, including the Roxy, Whisky-A-Go-Go, Viper Room and House of Blues. The festival will turn into a street fair for its final day on Sunday, August 3rd.


  • Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda said in a statement, "We played our first shows as a band in 1998, on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. When we were approached about an opportunity to play a special show on the Strip, we couldn't say no . . . this will be the ONLY U.S. show for the rest of 2013."
  • Members of Linkin Park's LP Underground fan club can purchase pre-sale tickets at, while general public sales begin on Wednesday (May 15th) at 9:00 a.m. More acts will be announced in the weeks ahead.


  • Linkin Park released its last album, Living Things, in June 2012 and has not yet announced any details about its next project.
  • Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington will be honored at the ninth annual MusiCares Map Fund benefit concert, scheduled to take place on May 30th at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. Bennington will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication to and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund, and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction recovery process.
