Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton was forced to drop out of the final dates of the band's tour of Down Under due to illness. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that Hamilton is battling a chest infection and has returned to the U.S. Joe Perry Project bassist David Hull, who stepped in for Hamilton during Aerosmith's 2006 tour when Hamilton was fighting throat cancer, is once again hitting the boards with the band. Aerosmith next performs on Wednesday (May 1st) in Boondall, Australia.
When we last caught up with Tom Hamilton, he told us how pleased he was with the material, performances, and production of Aerosmith's latest album, Music From Another Dimension: "The album, in my opinion, really pays attention to all the different eras of the band. The '70s era -- y'know, there's all-out riff-rock songs -- and then the latter stuff that's more melodic, ballady stuff so that we can have girls in our audience. I think that it just kind of reflects all the different eras of our career."
