As the Who begin the wind down to their Quadrophenia & More Tour, things seems to be cruising along nicely as the band slowly approaches its 50th anniversary in 2014. Fans can look forward to a few archival releases next year, which have only been hinted at, but seeing as how the band and its record label, Universal/UMe get along, there's no reason to think that the 50th won't feature some exciting vault material from the band.
Pete Townshend told us that the Who feels lucky having the team they have supporting the band at the label: "Universal have a department with which the band and our mangers have a very good relationship, which are the catalogue guys -- they look after the band catalog. We've always gotten along well with them. There's always been a lot of sympathy between us. And, y'know, the Who doesn't have an enormous catalogue, and what we do have really needs to be taken care of quite carefully and they've always done that."
