Theory Of A Deadman finished the touring cycle behind its fourth album, 2011's The Truth Is . . . , this past December, and the band has not spent a lot of time soaking up the sun and watching TV on their couches. In a new post at Twitter, the band revealed that work had already begun on album number five, writing, "New album underway!!! New stuff by summer!! Thx Theory fans." The group gave no indication whether it was already recording or just getting into the songwriting process for the disc.
- The Truth Is . . . debuted at Number Eight on the Billboard album chart when it came out in July 2011, while also snagging the Number One position on Billboard's Rock, Hard Rock and Alternative lists.
- Five massive rock singles were released from the set, including the chart-topping "Lowlife," "Bitch Came Back," "Out Of My Head," "Hurricane" and "Gentleman."
- Despite all the love from radio, The Truth Is . . . did not approach the million-plus sales of the band's previous effort, 2008's Scars & Souvenirs.
- Frontman Tyler Connolly admitted a while back that such a big success naturally put more pressure on the band to repeat it: "A lot of the conversations really just has to do with making sure we have the right songs, and enough songs, enough great songs. 'Cause that's a problem, you know, nowadays it's all about singles. It really is. So you've got to have a lot of singles, you can't have one or two tracks and then a bunch of album tracks, 'cause people don't buy records as much anymore. You just have to just keep pumping stuff out to radio, which we're getting pretty good at."
DID YOU KNOW??
Last year Tyler Connolly poked fun at his own anonymous image by asking people on the street if they recognized him in a series of webisodes called "You Don't Know Me."
