ALICE IN CHAINS UNVEILS OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR 'HOLLOW'

1/11/2013

Alice In Chains has released the official music video for "Hollow," the first song issued from the band's upcoming fifth studio album. The clip follows the day-to-day routine of a scientist working alone in a space station, with his mental and physical state gradually breaking down due to the effects of his isolation. The new clip follows a fan-made lyrics video for the song that came out last month, in which images submitted by fans through Instagram were matched to snippets of the lyrics that the band posted online.

  • Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell recently confirmed to Guitar World that the band had finished recording the new disc, its second without original vocalist Layne Staley.
  • The CD will follow up 2009's Black Gives Way To Blue, which ended a 14-year gap between studio efforts for the group and featured singer/guitarist William DuVall.
  • The album is expected to arrive this spring, although a title and exact release date have yet to be confirmed.

Hemiskull wrote: "William DuVall does a good job on the first album and Hollow sounds good. Just missing the Anger than Layne had in his voice, always sounded pissed off at the world."
