Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has a message for fans who are worried that the band recently went on hiatus with no set return date: relax. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Grohl not only insisted that the Foos are not splitting up, but said they never will. He explained, "People should never be afraid that Foo Fighters are ever going to break up. It's like your grandparents getting divorced -- it's not gonna happen."

The Foos announced the break after finishing the touring cycle for their seventh album, 2011's Wasting Light, but Grohl said he's already got an idea in mind for the follow-up. He revealed, "(I have) a concept for the next album we've never done before. And who knows? There might be a movie to go with it."

• Grohl told us a while back that Foo Fighters hopes to move forward musically with each new release: "The best thing about being in a band and making music is doing as many things as possible and exploring as many different musical regions as you can get your hands into. And it's important for every artist to explore that or just take a stab at it. Records should be things that are important to the artists as well as the people."
• Right now Grohl is focusing on the arrival of Sound City, a feature-length documentary on which he makes his debut as a director and producer.
• The film, which chronicles the history of Los Angeles' famed Sound City recording studio, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next month before becoming available worldwide on February 1st.
• Grohl has also played drums on the new album from Queens Of The Stone Age, which is due for release sometime in early 2013.
