'12-12-12' CONCERT FOR SANDY RELIEF TO BE BROADCAST LIVE

The increasingly massive 12-12-12 benefit concert to help Hurricane Sandy relief efforts will now be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 12th, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The show will be broadcast worldwide on TV, radio and the Web, with an estimated one billion viewers or listeners potentially tuning in globally. Among the TV and cable channels carrying the concert in the U.S. are CBS, AMC, HBO, MSG, Showtime, VH1 Classic, Fuse and PBS. Websites that will stream the broadcast include AOL, Hulu, MTV, Yahoo, Vevo and more.

 

  • The show will also be beamed into movie theaters in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area via satellite.
  • The show's organizers said in a statement, ""The fact that so many major media companies are joining forces to distribute and stream this important event to homes worldwide will enable us to create a tremendous and unprecedented fundraising effort on a global scale to benefit the victims of this devastating storm."
  • The concert's all-star lineup includes Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and a newly added Eric Clapton.
  • All money raised through ticket sales for the event will benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy via the Robin Hood Foundation.
  • Sandy lashed the East Coast in late October, devastating parts of New York and New Jersey, causing more than 100 deaths and leaving behind tens of billions of dollars worth of damage.
