Green Day's third new album of original material, Tre!, is now streaming online in its entirety, one week ahead of its release on Tuesday, December 11th. The arrival of the disc was moved up from January as a consolation prize for fans disappointed in the cancellation of the group's next three months of tour plans due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong checking into rehab. Drummer Tre Cool said, "We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned. If we couldn't be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing."

  • Tre! follows up Uno!, which came out in September, and Dos!, which was issued last month. A documentary on the making of the albums, Quatro!, is set to premiere in early 2013.
  • An onstage meltdown at a Las Vegas festival in September led Armstrong to enter rehab for an extended stay. The trio canceled a small November/December run of shows as well as a longer trek scheduled for January and February. Its plans beyond that remain unknown at the moment.

  • First week sales of Dos! were much lower than those of Uno! Do you think Tre! will be an outright flop?
  • Was putting out three albums in three months an experiment gone wrong?
  • Do you think Green Day's days as a commercial supergroup may be finished?
