Three Days Grace's new album, Transit Of Venus, is expected to sell between 50,000 and 55,000 copies in its first week of release, according to Hits Daily Double. That could land it in the Top 10 or possibly the Top Five on the Billboard album chart. The band's last disc, 2009's Life Starts Now, debuted at Number Three on first-week sales of 79,000 copies, both of which were career highs for the group.

That places the Canadian act right in the middle of the week's three big new rock releases. Muse's The 2nd Law is expected to sell between 110,000 and 120,000 copies, which will land it in the Top Three. Meanwhile, Papa Roach's new record, The Connection, is likely to move between 18,000 and 21,000 copies. The band's previous album, 2010's Time For Annihilation... On The Road And On The Record, opened with 16,000 copies to debut at Number 23.

  • The new album from Mumford & Sons, Babel, is expected to stay at the top of the chart after its whopping 600,000-copy debut.
  • Meanwhile, we asked Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson how he felt about fellow Canadians Rush finally getting nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week: "I would be even more proud to be a Canadian than I am already. I think they're a killer band, and I think that they deserve everything that they get. I've kind of heard a few stories that they've always kind of been black sheep around the awards and recognizability, but everyone knows who Rush is, and the proof is in the pudding with the music that they make."
  • The first single from Transit Of Venus, "Chalk Outline," is now in its fourth week atop the Active Rock radio chart, becoming the band's eighth single to go to Number One.
  • Three Days Grace will launch an 18-date club tour on Saturday (October 8th) in Dallas.
