Deftones have released "Tempest" as the first official single from the band's upcoming album, Koi No Yokan. The track follows "Leathers," which was issued last month as a free download. The album, the California group's seventh studio effort, will arrive on November 13th and follows up 2010's Diamond Eyes.
Loudwire described "Tempest" as "purely and undoubtedly Deftones," adding that the band "constantly balance beauty and aggression" and that the song "maintains the fact that no band on the planet sounds like Deftones."
- The album's title is a Japanese term that cannot be directly translated in English, but reads roughly as "love at first sight."
- Deftones will begin a North American tour next Tuesday (October 9th) in Ventura, California. The opening act for most of the dates will be Scars On Broadway, the recently reactivated side project of System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian.
