Weezer issues its seventh studio album on Tuesday (November 3rd), called Raditude. The disc is the band's most collaborative effort yet, with several producers on board, songwriting team-ups with Jermaine Dupri and the All-American Rejects, and even a guest appearance from Lil Wayne. Drummer Pat Wilson, who was recently promoted to guitar, told us a while back that the new spirit of collaboration began on the group's last effort, 2008's "red album": "It just seemed like that was the healthy way to kind of keep everything feeling fresh. Like, everybody was feeling like, 'Well, I'd really like to hear your voice, I wanna hear your songs.' After 15 years of doing it the other way, it just felt like it was time, you know."
Journeyman drummer Josh Freese, who played with Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle and many others, is now behind the kit for Weezer on tour.
The band performed on Halloween night (Saturday, October 31st) in New York city, where they dressed as giant bugs and brought Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester onstage to sing on the current single, "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To."
Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is also working with Katy Perry on her next album, and recently wrote a song called "Pick U Up" for the debut disc from American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, titled For Your Entertainment.
