This Sunday, Donna Ambrogi, A community Board Member for The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; Greg Ambrogi who is a board member of the Kyle Ambrogi Foundation; Dr. Matt Winterstein, A Psychologist in the Dept. of Psychiatry at Jefferson, Co-Chair of the Pennsylavania Youth Suicide Initiative. While this is a very tough subject to discuss, we were able to discuss signs to watch for and what to do if you feel like someone is in danger of hurting themself. We also discussed the importance of communication as well as options when/if you make a breakthrough on someone who is hurting. Greg and Donna shared their person experience with their son/brother Kyle Ambrogi who was a football player for Penn that completed suicide in 2005. Today, I had a chance to speak with Ray Davies about his new book, Americana, which is a Fantastic Read. The book starts with him being shot in New Orleans and continues to travel back and forth all the way through sharing many stories that make for an incredible book. The use of lyrics in the book tie in beautifully and reading some of the great stories about the Kinks was a blast. I laughed out loud many times and definitely went through a full gamut of of emotions while reading Americana. It is available now here. Besides the writing of the book and the process we discussed some aspects and stories without giving too much away, yet hopefully enticing you to want to read about Ray Davies' fascinating journey through life and his Americana tales.
