This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Mick Czaky, Gayle Wald and Anthony Heilbut in regards to the PBS Special, American Masters Series: Rosetta Tharpe The Godmother Of Rock N Roll, which will be airing Friday February 22nd at 9pm on PBS. Mick Czacky wrote, directed and produced the PBS special. Gayle Ward is the author of Shout, Sister, Shout! The Untold Story of Rock-and-Roll Trailblazer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Anthony Heilbut is a personal friend of Sister Rosettas and was going to record with her. Sister Rosetta Tharpe was 20 years ahead of her time. Today, David Florig, the Executive Director of WePac was in to discuss the library situation in the Philadelphia School System. Right now there are only 12 state paid libraries open at elementary schools in Philly, 28 over all. There are 150 schools in Philly.
