Today, Billy Duffy, guitarist of The Cult called WMMR to talk about their new record, the upcoming tour and a whole lot more. Their new CD, Choice Of Weapon, drops on May 22nd and they will be at The Electric Factory Rockin' Philly on June 10th with Icarus Line and Against Me as the opening acts. Billy spoke openly about the new record as well as bringing in Bob Rock to finish the record when they hit a wall. Has Billy Duffy ever written a Cult lyric? The answer is in the interview. Today, I had a chance to speak with Ray Davies about his new book, Americana, which is a Fantastic Read. The book starts with him being shot in New Orleans and continues to travel back and forth all the way through sharing many stories that make for an incredible book. The use of lyrics in the book tie in beautifully and reading some of the great stories about the Kinks was a blast. I laughed out loud many times and definitely went through a full gamut of of emotions while reading Americana. It is available now here. Besides the writing of the book and the process we discussed some aspects and stories without giving too much away, yet hopefully enticing you to want to read about Ray Davies' fascinating journey through life and his Americana tales.
