Beyond Dishonor - Heisenberg
Posted 7/15/2013 5:42:00 PM

Grab your invisible oranges - the Local Shots Podcast has a heavy, heavy song for you today. Aggressive, abrasive and everything else you want metal to be, Beyond Dishonor is making a name for themselves beyond their hometown of Trenton by combining the rougher elements of metal and hardcore with groovy riffs that make their music accessible to even mellow rock fans. We came across them when they supported our February 2013 Artist of the Month, Devise, on the bill of their Local Shots showcase at Dobbs. Stream the song "Heisenberg" now, and after you regain your hearing, check out the music video below [Breaking Bad fans, pay attention!]. The song is off their yet-to-be released EP Generations, but you can check out previously released tracks via BeyondDishonor.com and their Facebook page. Catch them live in Wilmington DE this weekend at Mojo 13 on 7/20 and in Reading next month opening the All-Stars Tour on 8/16.

Mo Lowda & The Humble is one of the coolest band names we've seen to date, which is why they are April's Local Shots Artist of the Month! ...Kidding- though the name is groovy, the music is a way better reason to check these guys out. The Temple U. trio gained a lot of traction after the release of their first full-length record Curse The Weather, building upon their established reputation as one of the best alt-rock bands in the city. Today we played the track "The Way Home"; stream it now, and get show dates plus a whole lot more on the Artist of the Month page.

Tunage on the Local Shots Podcast is brought to you today by Goodnight Lights! This song, which has an excellent 90s-fuzz vibe, is called "Convinced" and it'll be included on their upcoming EP - keep an eye on goodnight-lights.com for more info on that release. Check out the brand spankin' new video for the track below. Their next show is this Friday at The Fire; get details HERE.

Looking to take advantage of the amazing weather forecasted for this weekend? Here's another show that we on the Local Shots Podcast recommend: Soraia will be playing the V Fund Benefit tomorrow at the Robbinsville Indoor Stadium in NJ! Also catch Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes and John Eddie there - tickets are available HERE. Check out more show dates on Soraia.com. Here's a song off the record In The Valley Of Love And Guns called "Want What I Want".

For the Local Shots Artist of the Month feature, the Local Shots Podcast or for on-air consideration, we would love it if you'd send a CD to the station. Just circle one or two tracks that you like best or think would be best suited for WMMR. Put it on a CD and send it over. We try to listen to the CD's each day as they arrive, so it's easier for us to have a physical copy. Our address is below. Please include your website and any other information you would like us know know about your band. Details on upcoming shows are especially helpful.

Thanks very much! Looking forward to hearing it!
