The Good Excuses is an indie rock band from Willow Grove, PA that wears Grunge underwear, an optional Space helmet, a Funk watch, and whatever dirty Rock shirt they want to. They are four unusual people excited by the freedom they have to write unconventional music. With influences such as Nirvana, the Dead Milkmen, the Pixies, and The Flaming Lips, their music is full of optimism, aggression, and a sense of humor. Their lyrics, more often than not, tell a story which can stand on its own but is open to interpretation.
Playing nearly 50 shows before their album was even released, The Good Excuses put out "30 Minutes or Less" (which is actually about 44 minutes long) on 7/5/13. They recorded, mixed, and mastered the album themselves.
The Good Excuses rehearse and record in a windowless, un-heated, non air-conditioned soundproof room which they built with their own 9 hands. It gets sweaty and disgusting in there, but it's what they're used to now. The taco place down the street doesn't help the situation, either. Only when they are at their sweatiest, only when they are absolutely freezing cold, do The Good Excuses write their best music.
