Five Finger Death Punch fans have been getting all kinds of sneak peeks from the band’s new album, The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1, with track-by-track webisodes and song previews, but it seems like the band has decided to keep the new record close to the vest when it comes to their summer concerts.
Rolling Stone reports that 5FDP kicked off the 2013 Rockstar Mayhem Festival over the weekend by performing an hour-long set of songs from the past five years, yet the sole song performed from Volume 1 was their single, “Lift Me Up,” which was released earlier this year.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory told Rolling Stone that the band will slowly introduce new tracks from the album as their tour continues, saying, “At this, you can’t make mistakes. Everything has to be flawless.”
The band just announced via their official site that their fall tour is now set to launch when they co-headline Monster Energy’s Aftershock Festival on September 14 and 15. The festival will also feature performances from Korn, Megadeth, Shinedown, Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold and more.
“We’re excited to take the new albums out on the road so fans can hear some of the new music live,” vocalist Ivan Moody said in a statement. “And what better way to kick off our fall tour than with a massive festival like Aftershock?”
Before then, 5FDP is booked solid through July and into early August with the Mayhem Festival. Volume 1 is set for release on July 30, with the second half of the double LP expected to be released later in 2013.
