Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is adding another familiar face to the band’s upcoming tour, Rolling Stone reports.
Reznor announced guitarist Robin Finck’s return on Friday through Tumblr. In his statement, Reznor added, "We are deep in the rehearsal process and it feels exciting and great to be back at this."
Finck, who has also played with Guns N’ Roses, has performed with NIN on and off over the past two decades. After first appearing on NIN’s second album The Downward Spiral in 1994, he last performed with them on their Wave Goodbye tour in 2009, the band’s last before a four-year hiatus.
Finck joins a lineup that includes frequent NIN collaborator and keyboardist Alessandro Cortini, Ilan Rubin, and new members Adrian Belew and Josh Eustis.
The news comes days after former Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery dropped out of the tour, citing the length of the tour for his decision. Though the timing suggests that Finck will replace Avery on bass for the upcoming tour, there has not been an official announcement to that effect.
