The Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tour kicks off tonight, and for Godsmack, this marks their first major jaunt on the road since extensively touring in support of 2010’s The Oracle.
However, if you think their break from the road means they’ll be rusty on stage, think again.
Frontman Sully Erna and drummer Shannon Larkin spoke with Meltdown from Detroit’s 101 WRIF recently, and they made it quite clear they’re taking it to 1000HP on night one:
Sully: “You know, we haven’t been out in a while and we’re trying to condition ourselves right now so the first show is really, really great.”
Shannon: “This is the hardest we rehearsed, I swear to you, in the last ten years. We’ve been at it for two weeks straight ripping through the set twice a day. We want to make sure we’re not gonna have any 'first show blues.' It’s gonna be like we’ve been out there for a long time.”
Godsmack are headlining the stacked Uproar lineup, which also includes Seether, Skillet, Buckcherry, Pop Evil, Escape The Fate and more. To check out the complete Uproar tour schedule, head over to RockstarUproar.com.
