Fans don't have to wait to hear Godsmack's new album, "1000hp," in its entirety. The group is streaming the 11-song set on iTunes after releasing the singles "Generation Day" and the title track.
The album brings Godsmack back to active duty after a hiatus following 2010's "Oracle," and frontman Sully Erna tells us that despite some trepidation the group fell back into gear pretty quickly:
"We were just kind of getting everything in a good place, and what we liked and what we didn't. Ironically, two of the first singles we're gonna be going with were the last two songs written, like when we finally got in a room they weren't even part of the batch myself or they brought in. It was just one of those things where, 'We haven't wrote as a band. Let's just jam,' and there it was, man. It came back very quickly."
Godsmack will be hitting the road to headline this year's Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tour, which kicks off August 15 in suburban Detroit, with Canadian dates to follow after the trek wraps.
