Are The GN’R New Album Rumors True?

LAS VEGAS, NV - MAY 21: Singer Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses performs at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino during the opening night of the band's second residency, 'Guns N' Roses - An Evening of Destruction. No Trickery!' on May 21, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Asking about a new Guns N' Roses album has been a standing concern -- or joke? -- since the leadup to "Use Your Illusion I & II" in 1991.

The group's last album, "Chinese Democracy," came out in 2008 following a 15-year wait, but keyboardist Dizzy Reed tells us there's both new material as well as songs left over from the "Chinese Democracy" sessions that could be part of a new album:

"We've all been at it. We've all been handing files back and forth to one another in various combinations of different people. But also there is quite a bit of material that still needs to be finished and needs to be released. One or both of those things is gonna happen...It's just a matter of picking out which songs and where and when and in what order. And then if there's other things that come up that are worthy enough to add to that, then that's gonna happen, too, and those might be finished."

As to when GNR will get around to all that, Reed adds,

"I kinda gave up on that a long time ago with the last record. It'll come out when it comes out, when it's ready."

GNR has just released the new home video "Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino -- Las Vegas," while Reed and guitarist Richard Fortus are touring with the all-star group Dead Daisies, opening this summer for the Lynyrd Skynyrd/Bad Company and Kiss/Def Leppard tours.
