Jack White unveiled the video for the song “Lazaretto” today, off the upcoming album of the same name.
Shot in black & white and filled with disjointed images of crowbars, snakes, bulls, dancing shadows, and bank-teller window vents, the song is a jarring combination of industrial and country influences layered over a strict rock ‘n roll beat.
It’s become a common feature of Jack White’s many non-White Stripes ventures that he savors going beyond the rhythmic limits of Meg White on the drums. The result is more Stonesy music, more danceable songs, but it doesn’t demand as much of Jack White’s defining inventiveness.
