Metallica Play Beatles, Ozzy Acoustic Covers At MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit

LOS ANGELES, CA - MAY 12: Musician James Hetfield of Metallica performs onstage at the 10th annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert at Club Nokia on May 12, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
Last night’s MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit may have honored Ozzy Osbourne and his continued support of the organization, which provides resources to musicians struggling with addiction, but it was Metallica that stole the show.

Metallica made the most of their four-song set, performing acoustic covers of Rare Earth’s “I Just Want To Celebrate,” Deep Purple’s “When A Blind Man Cries,” The Beatles’ “In My Life” and Ozzy’s “Diary Of A Madman.”

Check out the videos below to see Metallica’s take on these classic tracks.  “Gold Star” of the day goes to YouTube user InvisibleKidTMCC, who captured these performances and shared them with all of the folks that weren’t in attendance at the benefit.
