Construction on Ozzy’s Estate Halted Due To Bat Problem

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - MAY 18: Singer Ozzy Osbourne performs at An Evening With Women benefiting The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 18, 2013 in Beverly Hills, California.
Today’s dose of irony is brought to you by Ozzy Osbourne and bats!

According to a report from BBC.com, Osbourne has to stop plans of turning an old barn on his Buckinghamshire, U.K. estate into a guest home, because the local city council has discovered  the barn provides shelter for bats, whose “homes” are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and The Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010.

In addition, a city council spokeswoman was quoted as saying, "We must be satisfied measures have been put in place to protect the animals before planning permission can be considered."

In other words, bats are literally (hanging? flying?) in the way of Ozzy’s project.  Talk about karma coming back and biting you!
