FFDP Working On New Material, Eying 2015 Release

LOS ANGELES, CA - MAY 02: Five Finger Death Punch arrive at the 5th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Award Show at Club Nokia on May 2, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.
The members of Five Finger Death Punch figure there's still plenty of life left in their two "The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell" albums from 2013, but that doesn't mean they're coasting.

In fact, guitarist Zoltan Bathory tells us that the quintet is already working on new material for the next 5FDP album, which the group hopes to release in 2015:

FFDP's Zoltan Bathory on recording new material by GMI Rock News

"Right now I think, what do we have -- five, six ideas or roughs already in the can...In this environment I don't think that bands can allow themselves to stay in a studio for two, three, four years and wait and try to write some masterpiece in four years. In four years people are gonna forget about you. they will not remember who you were. You can't afford it...So for us it's definitely within, I would say next spring we would want to put something out. So that means this year we'll be recording here and there and probably go into the studio in December or January but definitely want to have something out there before the next summer, for sure."

As with "The Wrong Side of Heaven...,"
5FDP is using portable recording gear to work on songs while on the road. 5FDP will spend the spring and summer playing festival dates in the U.S. and Russia, and it begins a just-announced 27-date arena tour with Volbeat on Sept. 16 in Salt Lake City.
