Slayer Performs Surprise Set At Golden Gods Awards, Debuts New Song

Fans in attendance at Revolver Magazine’s Golden Gods Awards were treated to a huge surprise when Slayer opened the awards show with a three-song set that also included the global premiere of “Implode,” the band’s first new song in five years.

Shortly after the band’s performance, “Implode” was made available as a free download at  The live version of “Implode” from the Golden Gods Awards last night can be streamed from YouTube.

Slayer’s show-opening set was preceded by Marilyn Manson who briefly talked about, you know…the devil, which led to him introducing Slayer, and while the clip below cuts the crowd’s reaction short, their collective roar is unreal and proof that sometimes, awards shows get keep special guests and surprises a secret.  Check it out!
