Jack White Records, Releases Single in Under Four Hours

If you follow Jack White’s Third Man Records on social media, you know just how hectic yesterday’s Record Store Day activities were.

At 10 am, White began recording what he hoped would be the “World’s Fastest Studio-to-Store Record,” and while Guinness has yet to make it official, he made excellent time at 3:55:21.

White recorded a live version of the title track from his upcoming album Lazaretto, had it pressed into a 7” single and delivered to his Third Man Records shop hours later for fans to purchase.  According to local news outlet The Tennessean, the single also featured a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Power of My Love” as the B-side.

While being able to purchase such a collector's item was a rare treat, fans waiting for the single to come back from being pressed were also treated to an hour-long set from White and his band that contained songs from White’s solo catalog as well as White Stripes songs.

To check out all of the behind-the-scenes action from yesterday, head over to Third Man Records’ Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
