Motley Crue already announced that they’re going out with a big bang, but that plan apparently does not include a new album.
Speaking with Artisan News (via Blabbermouth), guitarist Mick Mars has put a damper on reports that they might be recording a new LP ahead of their tour kick-off this summer.
“I don’t really think that at this point there will be a new album. We’re very much concentrating on this last, final tour,” he told Artisan News.
Mars is echoing the sentiments of bassist Nikki Sixx from last month, also noting the amount of effort the tour will take itself.
“I don’t know… I like to put a lot of effort into this last, farewell tour,” he added. “And who knows? Maybe… I mean, we have our own masters and we have all this other stuff… But we can go back in and remix songs and redo songs… But so far, we’re just mostly concentrating on what the show is gonna be about, where we’re going, lining up the dates… doing that kind of thing.”
A good chunk of the tour dates have already been confirmed, beginning on July 2 in Grand Rapids, MI. Check out the full list of tour dates here.
