One of the largest events and best kept secrets in Bucks County is the Sarah Parvin Memorial Soccer fest. This year it will be held from Friday July 26 - Sunday July 28, 2012 at the Quakertown Soccer Club located at 221 California Road in Quakertown PA. The Soccer Club opens at 12:00 Friday for campers.
Sarah was a dynamic and spirited young lady who touched the hearts of all she met. Sarah passed away in 2006 at the age of 12 from small cell ovarian cancer. Soccerfest is hosted by the Quakertown Soccer Club and the Sarah Parvin Foundation.
Kids from under 9 to over 30, comprised from travel teams and recreational teams will play nonstop from 10:00 Saturday morning until the last game is finished on Sunday. This soccer festival is unique in that there are no trophies – just good soccer fun for a great cause. Soccer is just the beginning.
There will be entertainment including Up Front Band, Rattlesnake Drive Band, Scott Marshall Band, Ultra Violet Band, School of Rock, LD 50 Band and Mighty Manatees Band. Hannah Stellabott, a Disney Idol final will be part of the opening ceremony as well as make a guest appearance Saturday evening.
For the younger children there will be inflatable amusements such as a Moon Bounce and Water Slide. You can’t forget the food court. There is no way you can leave this event hungry!
All proceeds from the weekend go to the Sarah Parvin Foundation. The mission of the Sarah Parvin Foundation is to make kids of all ages realize they can make a difference in the battle against cancer.
