Streaming FAQs

Thank you for choosing to listen to WMMR online! This station is utilizing Liquid Compass, a national streaming services company to broadcast its signal to the Internet. During the broadcast, you may notice periods of intermittent interruptions, or silence, which is normal. These periods of silence are covering local on-air commercials, which we are not allowed to broadcast over the internet. Please be assured that you have not lost the stream, as the broadcast should resume after the commercial set is over (commercial sets vary from two to five minutes long).

This new and improved streaming media service supports PC, MAC and Linux users! To ensure that that you are able to fully enjoy this steam, please make sure that your computer has the latest free and computer safe Flash Player 9.

Droid App FAQ

The WMMR Droid App is now live. You can download it and stream WMMR on most Android devices.

To install, open the Android Market application in the Applications menu. Search for "WMMR" and you'll see a result appear - click for details and click again to install.

The WMMR app will then appear in your Applications menu.

To enable background streaming, open the "Options" tab and click the checkbox next to "Enable Background Play". You can then minimize the app, use other apps, and even allow the phone to sleep while the WMMR stream continues to play.

To return to the app, click on the app icon again, or click on the status notification in the upper left.

Your handset must be running at least Android OS 1.6 in order to install and run the app successfully. Older Android phones running OS 1.5 or lower are unable to recognize our streaming format, and users running incompatible OS versions should not see WMMR appear in their Android Market listings.

iPhone App FAQs

iPhone users can head to the iTunes App Store to download the free WMMR app for listening to our live stream and podcasts - on the go! If you've got iTunes installed, click here to get it.

iPhone users need to be using at least the 2.2 version of firmware in order to download podcasts “over-the-air” directly onto their iPhone, without the aid of plugging it into their laptop or desktop. Firmware updates are free and can be had by clicking on the “Update” button in iTunes while the iPhone is plugged in. Click here to make sure your firmware is up to date.

iTunes Tagging FAQ

iTunes Tagging: Tag a song on a compatible iPod or the new iPod nano.

iPod nano is now rocking a built-in FM tuner. So WMMR listeners can use the click wheel to tag a song, and iTunes creates a list of all tagged songs for preview and purchase the next time your iPod nano is synched to iTunes.

It's just as easy when listening to 93.3 WMMR on a compatible HD radio or car stereo system. WMMR Listeners hear a song, press “tag”, and a connected compatible iPod or new iPod nano saves that song’s title and information. When they syncd to a Mac or PC, a new Tagged playlist appears in the iTunes jukebox — complete with links to the iTunes Store. WMMR Listeners can preview tagged songs free, then buy them with a click.

Blackberry App FAQs

The WMMR Blackberry App is now live! You can download it and stream WMMR on the following devices:

  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220
  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230
  • BlackBerry Curve 8300
  • BlackBerry Curve 8310
  • BlackBerry Curve 8330
  • BlackBerry Curve 8350i
  • BlackBerry Curve 8520
  • BlackBerry Curve 8900
  • BlackBerry Bold 9000
  • BlackBerry Storm 9500
  • BlackBerry Storm 9530

Please make sure that you are using one of the above listed models. Also, our applications require at least operating system (OS) 4.5.0. You can check which OS version you have by going to Settings > Options > About on your Blackberry device. Please note that we do not support OS 5.0 because it is still a new, emerging operating system.

Next, please make sure that you are downloading these applications with the official Blackberry App World application. You can download it on your device by navigating to this address and clicking “Download Blackberry App World”: www.blackberry.com/appworld

Once you download this application, please use it to search for and download the app(s) you are looking for.

If you are still unable to download our application, please ensure with your cell phone carrier that you have a data plan that allows App World access. Surprisingly, there are instances where users’ phones have not been properly configured by their carrier to allow them to use App World. Our applications can currently be downloaded by users from all carriers in all countries, so your carrier should not restrict you from downloading our applications. We have also seen instances where we have needed to delete and reinstall the App World application due to a bug caused by the App World software itself.

These are the issues that I have seen appear most often. The main things to double check are:

  1. Making sure you have a supported device, and
  2. Making sure you have an operating system between 4.5.0 and 4.7.1
